My Crafty Valentine: A Snapshot of Our Sweetheart DIY Event

Thank you to everyone who came to our East Harlem Goodwill last night – we had an amazingly good DIY time! We’ll have more photos and video of the event up soon, but in the meantime, here’s a mini-gallery peek at the Valentines fun we had:

Valentines DIY with Thrifty Vintage Chic this Tuesday 2/12, 6-8pm!

The snow is melting & love is in the air! Come to the East Harlem Goodwill tomorrow, Tuesday 2/12, from 6pm to 8pm for a hands-on gift-making DIY lesson with Thrifty Vintage Chic‘s Robin S. Wallace making a one-of-a-kind Valentines your sweetie will never forget.

Valentines’ DIY Event Postponned ’til Tuesday, But 17 Weekend Sales to Come

UPDATE: Due to expected inclement weather this Friday and Saturday, we have decided to postpone our Valentines DIY with Robin Wallace until Tuesday.

That’s right – instead of holding the event this Friday, February 8th, we will be holding the event this Tuesday, February 12th. Please join us then at the East Harlem Goodwill from 6-8pm – we’ll have plenty of materials on hand and the Thrifty Vintage Chic expert to show you how to turn everyday Goodwill finds into one-of-a-kind sweetheart tokens.

In the meantime, we’ve got a ton of sales coming up for you enjoyment. Take a look:

Friday, February 8th:

  • Chelsea Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line at 8:45 a.m., and the doors open at 9. The store admits two customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two window items per person. Once their transaction is complete, window sale shoppers must leave the store until it opens to everyone at 10. The Goodwill Chelsea Store is located at 103 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001 (646-638-1725).
  • The 23rd Street Goodwill Window Sale: The sale begins at 9 a.m., and is first-come, first-serve. Each customer is given a ticket in the order they enter the store. They may pick two window items to buy. When the purchase is made, they may rejoin the line to make another selection. You’ll find the Goodwill 23rd Street Store at 220 East 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010 (212-447-7270).
  • The Astoria Steinway Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line at 8:15 a.m., and the doors open at 9 a.m. The store admits all the customers at the same time, who are taken in numerical order. Purchases are limited to two window items per person. Once their window transaction is complete, the customers can shop the store. You’ll find the Goodwill Steinway Store at 32-36 Steinway Street, Astoria, NY 11103 (718-932-0418)
  • The Bronx Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line by 7:45 a.m., and the sale begins at 8. The store admits two customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two window items per person.  At 9, the store opens to everyone unless there are still ticket-holders on line. Once they’ve made their purchases, any remaining window merchandise is up for grabs. You’ll find the Goodwill Bronx Store at 361 East 149th Street, Bronx, NY 10455 (718-292-1083).

Saturday, February 9th:

  • The East Harlem Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line at 8:15 a.m., and the doors open at 8:30 for window items only. The store admits three customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two items per person. At 9:30, the store opens to everyone and any remaining window merchandise is up for grabs. You’ll find the Goodwill East Harlem Store at 2231 Third Avenue (121st Street), New York, NY 10035 (212-410-0973).
  • The Greenwich Village Goodwill Boutique Window Sale: The sale begins at 9 a.m., and is first-come, first-serve. Each customer is given a ticket in the order they arrive starting at 8:50. Two customers come in at a time, and may choose two items each to purchase. If they want more, they must go to the back of the line and get another ticket. The doors open for everyone after all of the window customers are done, usually 10-10:15 a.m. You’ll find the Goodwill Greenwich Village Store at 44 West 8th Street, New York, NY 10011 (212-477-7024).
  • The Stuyvesant Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are given out just before the doors open at 9:30 a.m. Two people are allowed in at a time to purchase two items each. Out of consideration for other customers, we ask that they make their selection as quickly as possible and not ask to examine each window item. When their transactions are complete, they may go to the back of the line if they want more window merchandise. The store opens for everyone at 10 a.m., but the window sale line continues inside until the sale is over. You’ll find the Goodwill Stuyvesant Store at 1704 Second Avenue, New York, NY 10128 (212-831-1830).
  • The Washington Heights Goodwill Window Sale: The sale begins at 9 a.m., and is first-come, first-serve. Three customers come in at a time and may choose three items each to purchase. If they want more, they must go to the back of the line after the transaction. The doors open for everyone at 10 a.m. You’ll find the Goodwill Washington Heights Store at 512 West 181st Street, New York, NY 10033 (212-923-7910).
  • The Brooklyn Livingston Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets will be distributed starting at 8:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the sale begins at 9. Each customer may pick two window items to buy. When the purchase is made, they may rejoin the line to make another selection. You’ll find the Goodwill Livingston Store at 258 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (718-923-9037).
  • The Brooklyn Fulton Street Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets will be distributed starting at 8:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the sale begins at 9. Each customer may pick two window items to buy. When the purchase is made, they may rejoin the line to make another selection. You’ll find the Goodwill Fulton Store at 1100-1104 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238 (718-789-0856).
  • The Rockaway Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis as window sale customers enter the store at 9:30 a.m. Each customer may pick up to four window items to buy. The store opens to regular customers at 10 a.m. You’ll find the Goodwill Rockaway Store at 226 Highway 46, Rockaway, NJ 07866 (973-983-5693).
  • The Jersey City Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line by 7:45 a.m., and the doors open at 8. The store admits two customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two window items per person.  At 9, the store opens to everyone unless there are still ticket-holders on line. Once they’ve made their purchases, any remaining window merchandise is up for grabs. You’ll find the Goodwill Jersey City Store at 2815 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (201-946-6735).
  • The East Northport Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets are distributed to customers on line by 8:15 a.m., and the doors open at 8:30. The store admits two customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two window items per person. At 9:30, the store opens to everyone unless there are still ticket-holders on line. Once they’ve made their purchases, any remaining window merchandise is up for grabs. You’ll find the Goodwill East Northport Store at 1900 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, NY 11731 (631-462-4219).
  • The Bellmore Goodwill Window Sale: On Saturday, tickets are distributed to customers on line by 8:45 a.m., and the doors open at 9. On Sunday, ticket distribution will be at 9:15, and the doors will open at 9:30. The store admits two customers at a time. Purchases are limited to two showcase items per person. To keep the sale moving, customers are asked to make their selections quickly without examining each individual showcase item. Once they have made their choice, they are free to shop the rest of the store. You’ll find the Goodwill Bellmore Store at 2736 Merrick Road, Bellmore, NY 11710 (516-409-5951).
  • The Springfield Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis as window sale customers enter the store at 9:30 a.m. Each customer may pick up to four window items to buy. The store opens to regular customers at 10 a.m. You’ll find the Goodwill Springfield Store at 126 Route 22 West, Springfield, NJ 07081 (973-912-0156).
  • The Fairfield Goodwill Window Sale: Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis as window sale customers enter the store at 9:30 a.m. Each customer may pick up to four window items to buy. The store opens to regular customers at 10 a.m. You’ll find the Goodwill Fairfield Store at 423 Route 46 West, Fairfield, NJ 07004 (973-227-1842).
  • The Wappingers Falls Goodwill Window Sale: The sale begins at 8 a.m., and is first-come, first-serve. Each customer is given a ticket in the order they arrive. Two customers will be admitted at a time who may select up to three window items. When all the ticketed purchasers are done, any remaining window items are available to other customers after the store opens at 9. You’ll find the Goodwill Wappingers Falls Store at 1488 Route 9, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
