Guest Blogger Nicole: Menswear – Create the Perfect Holiday Outfit for Less!

Mens Fashion CollageThe holiday season is in full swing and you may already be spending a ton of money on gifts and now you need something nice to wear for holiday get together’s and parties. Luckily, Goodwill is chock full of awesome finds that won’t cause you to break the bank!

A great sweater is the quintessential holiday must have. A cardigan sweater allows you to layer, which is perfect during the winter. Goodwill has sweaters for a steal at $9.99!

When you need a new pair of dress pants Goodwill should be your first stop. Many of their stores have a very large selection of designer bottoms starting for as low as $7.99!

Collared Shirts
The collared shirt is a wardrobe staple and if you shop around you can score amazing designer tops at a fraction of the cost. I’ve stumbled upon Burberry, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole and Brooks Brothers tops while shopping at Goodwill!

Shopping for shoes at Goodwill can be hit or miss due to size availability, but you never know what you may find. On my most recent visit I saw a pair of Italian made genuine leather dress shoes for $19.99!

So before you reach into the back of your closet for that same old red sweater you have been wearing for the past 3 Christmas holidays head on over to your local Goodwill to see what you find!

Happy Holidays!

Father Knows Best: Snagging the Comfy Sweater

Tis the season for snuggly, comfy sweaters! GoodwillNyNj Style Icon David Morgan makes Dad’s cardigans cool with grays shades, geometric shapes and knitwear-filled trips to Goodwill. Bundle up and take a look:

My favorite sweater, "borrowed" from Dad!

In 2011, I will make my very first crocheted sweater. I think this is #59 on my Resolution list, but I will get around to it. A few months ago I was given a huge bag of yarn, and I fully intend on using every last bit of it. Until then, I must admit that I’ve been guilty of taking my Father’s sweaters each time I go to visit my parents.

JennyHats, Our Guest Blogger!

Happy Monday! To celebrate the start of a new week, we have a special treat here at A Good Look — we have our first GoodwillNyNj Creates guest-blogger post, and it’s really, really cool.

If you’ve ever decided to knit a scarf, you know that the material to make them can get incredibly costly — we’ve seen balls of yarn go for $45 a skein, and that wouldn’t even make enough scarf to cover our clavicle, let alone bundle us up for a winter storm.

Well, JennyHats had a great idea – why not buy the yarn from Goodwill… in the form of recycled, cost-effective, cozy sweaters? You’ll be saving money and promoting sustainability. And no matter how cold out, we think that’s pretty darn hot.

Without further ado, then, here is Etsy crafter and graphic designer JennyHats‘ GoodwillNyNj Creation. Just click the MORE button below and enjoy!:
