Are you as excited as I am for the Indian Summer we’re having? I’m rejoicing over the idea of wearing some of my bright and colorful summer wardrobe well into October. But I have a feeling that the cold is going to suddenly hit us and I’m not sure if I’m ready to give up wearing bright colors just yet.
I’ve been known to stand out in a crowd of people in New York City because of my bright coats. I plan on doing the same this fall and winter and so can you! Here’s my tips for wearing color in the colder months:
Embrace a pop of color
A pop of color is always the easiest way to incorporate into your look. If you’re into wearing mostly black like most New Yorkers, try adding a bright accessory like a purse, scarf of gloves or coat with your wardrobe. I always grab this thrifted green coat at the beginning of fall and wear it well into the winter with a fun, chunky scarf and winter accessories.
Darker colors and hues count too
If bright colors aren’t quite your thing, why not try darker colors like mustard yellow, hunter green, burgundy or dark orange. These colors actually go together really well and tend to make the perfect fall outfit and look that you can incorporate into winter time.
