This week I decided to finally transition my wardrobe from Winter to Spring. With the sun gleaming, and the weather getting a bit more warmer, I felt as though it was definitely time. My transition pretty much included; gathering old sweaters & coats, purchasing new pairs of jeans, and purchasing new shirts. I am avid supporter of the Goodwill, so all of those winter pieces were donated to them with no hesitation.
The spring happens to be one of my favorite seasons, and with that being said shopping for it was a joy. I visited Goodwill NYNJ with the mindset that, I wanted to look for silk and satin shirts. I love that satin gleams in the sunlight, and I feel like it is a definite necessity. Just my luck, I ran across an orange satin top that I loved. It was only $5, and it was just within my shopping budget.
I wanted to bring the top to life, so I decided to shoot it outside of my house. I decided to choose a location in which the sun was gleaming the most, because I wanted to show how amazing the top would glow when the sunlight hits it. The positive to Spring is that, its never too hot or too cold. So, wearing satin is the perfect fabric for that weather.
Next to find on my list would have to be, denim jackets. I want to find denim jackets that are either a light or dark wash, that can be easily cut into a cropped fit. I feel like the cropped detailing would make it stand out and bring some edge to a piece that isn’t that edgy when it stands alone. It definitely be found at the Goodwill, and I am excited for my next go round of shopping.
