How to Do the Holidays

Functional and fabulous. The holidays are an exciting time of year, but they can also be kind of a headache. Tons of obligations, lots of family time, and running from party to party can get tiring after a few weeks of nonstop fun.

That’s why this week’s Goodwill gem is so entirely perfect for the holiday season! A pair of simple, elegant flats in a neutral hue, these shoes are chic enough to pair with all of your favorite festive ensembles, but they won’t actually kill your feet while you flit from place to place. The soft leather upper in a light nude color is understated but sophisticated, and will easily complement any of the holiday season’s rich, luxurious hues. The skinny ankle strap keeps them securely in place without distracting too much for the minimalist styling, and the classic pointed toe gives these classy flats a ladylike feel.

Bold, powerful neutrals. You could, of course, put these pretty shoes on with absolutely color – the nude hue means they will never, ever clash with anything, no matter how bold the color of how big the print. However, to stick with the theme of understated glamor, I’ve gone another, very sophisticated route by choosing another stark neutral for the rest of the ensemble – a classic little black dress. Though a vibrant color would also be lovely here, the pairing of dark, eye-catching black – especially with this dress’s satiny finish – with the chic nude flats is an incredibly high-class and timeless way to wear them, ensuring you look absolutely stunning, no matter the situation or the set of people you’re mingling with.

black dressSimple means sophisticated. Go for classic neutrals, flattering cuts, and timeless pieces for your holiday party ensembles, and you can really never go wrong.
