What comes to mind when you think summer? How about rebirth and romance? It is prime season for barbeques, sitting poolside, and of course weddings.
Since we love romance, many of us ladies find our weekends in June, July and August booked back-to-back with soirees where our friends, family and coworkers exchange vows of everlasting love. Those events, as beautiful as they are, can add up and can threaten to break the bank!
In the age of social media, we cannot repeat an outfit. Gone are the days of having a go to dress you can repeat over the course of wedding season. Now you face being tagged wearing the same outfit, committing a major fashion no-no.
The Goodwill located on 79th St. has a plethora of cocktail dresses by Loft and Ann Taylor. I’ve also spotted Tibi, Milly and Tracey Reese, known in the fashion world as the go to brands for wedding guests. The sizes ran from petite to plus and they looked as if they had been barely worn. Also, stuck between racks, you can spy sequin which can always make an event fun and cool. Don’t forget to just go for color; no one is forgiving to the guest who wears black, unless it’s a tuxedo.
You have hope in staying within budget and looking great by visiting your local Goodwill. If there is one thing they have tons of are special occasion dresses. From short to long, vintage to contemporary, floral to sequin, Goodwill can make your special occasion shopping very easy on your wallet. The next time you plan on heading into a department store or boutique, revise your shopping itinerary and pop into a Goodwill for an updated wardrobe specific to the event and season.
