Goodwill Gems: Surprise Spring/Summer Storm Rain Boots!

Memorial Day is just around the corner. It’s mid-May, and many of us are starting to think about days at the beach and planning summer vacations. However, we’re not totally out of the Spring showers yet. Pretty pink rain boots, like this lovely pair I found at my favorite local thrift, are perfect for sporting on rainy days, and will add a gorgeous pop of color to even the most blah of outfits.

Sun? Soon! But for now, we’re still getting those heavy duty spring rains – and storms that sometimes appear out of nowhere. It’s crucial to be prepared for unexpected weather at all times. And while you’re protecting your pretty toes from wet spring weather, it doesn’t hurt to still feel stylish at the same time.

GoodwillNyNj & Jenna of All Thrifty States

Jenna’s All Thrifty States: A Visual Journey through America’s Collective Closets is a photo project and upcoming book that takes an investigative look into the significance of second-hand shopping, and how consumers’ purchases of previously used items can be not only a choice that is healthy for the planet, but an answer to the consumerism that has pushed Americans’ spending habits to the max.

Last month in the midst of her road trip, Jenna stopped by two of our GoodwillNyNj stores: the Troy Goodwill upstate and the Goodwill Boutique in Greenwich Village, NYC.

In bright, warm sunset hues, this sensational scarf is the perfect accessory to take you through spring, and even on into summer and fall.

Scarves aren’t just for winter. In fact, sometimes they’re even more fun when the temperatures start to rise. They become an item of choice, not necessity, when it’s gorgeous out. Spring (which is finally, FINALLY here!) is the perfect time to bring out scarves in lighter fabrics, brighter colors, and cool patterns.
