Just in case you’re not in the know yet, a Goodwill Window Sale is when the best items in the store (which have been displayed in the window for days if not weeks) go on sale. There are often designer items and high-priced toys in the mix. We’ve seen everything from red lacquered Chinese lions to a Ferragamo heels to pristine electric guitars. Crowds form early, so try to get to the store well before doors open.

To find your nearest Goodwill, visit http://www.goodwillnynj.org/findgoodwill.aspx. And if you haven’t donated to Goodwill recently, now would be a great time. The more donations we get, the more for everyone to buy, and the more funding for our programs and services to keep changing lives.

Goodwill Gems: Bright & Delightful Springtime Flats

You may not feel it in the air, but tomorrow is the First Day of Spring! Our correspondent Lauren has been tinkering with her wardrobe all winter long, donating and shopping at her local Goodwill. This week’s find might just be her most Spring-ful one to date – and she’s counting the days (and the weather forecasts) until she can celebrate the new season in this week’s Good Gem: Bright & Delightful Springtime Flats.

015
This sprightly, striped pair of comfy fabric flats are the most ideal shoe for the spring season – the cute pattern and vivid colors will instantly liven up any look, no matter how basic.

Seriously, it is springtime! Almost, at least. The official start of the spring season is just days away. And whatever it looks like outside, mentally, I’m already totally there (and I know I’m not the only one). Even if you can’t quite feel the warm spring sun on your face just yet, you can keep yourself calm during the long (very long, this year) wait by getting your spring wardrobe ready now.

A perfectly patterned pair of stretchy cotton flats is a darling choice to finish off almost any spring ensemble. This pair, found at my favorite neighborhood Goodwill spot, of course, is made of a bright, fun fabric striped in a rainbow of colors. The soft fabric will easily stretch and mold to the wearer’s feet, making them the next best thing to actually being barefoot (unfortunately, we’ll all have to wait a little longer for beach weather).

Goodwill Gems: Super Vivid Arm Candy

Spring is mere weeks away – why not welcome it in style? Our correspondent Lauren has a plan. She’s going to make sure that Spring feels welcome when it finally arrives. How is she going to make this happen? With vibrant finds as bright as a whole row of tulips, all found at her local Goodwill. Last week, we spotted some shockingly blue color-blocked kicks. This weeks, we in for another high-value treat. Introducing this week’s Goodwill Gem: Super Vivid Arm Candy.

This playful, candy-apple red purse’s casual-chic style makes it perfect for hopping from one event to the next during the busy spring season.

It is still technically winter, and the temps outside seem to say so, too. But winter can’t (thankfully) last very much longer. To inject a little of happy, springtime feel into a wardrobe that still needs to protect you from the cold, add vivid pops of color with fresh new accessories.

Bags are one thing it seems you can never have enough of. They instantly change the look and feel of an ensemble with absolutely zero effort, so it’s hard not to want to have an infinite number on hand. Luckily, if you’re smart enough to shop thriftily at your local Goodwill, you can make that dream of (almost) unlimited handbags a reality.
