It’s almost time to send summer off into the sunset in style – and what better way than while wearing a great find for fall? Our corresondent Lauren ducking into her local Goodwill and came out with the perfect near-Autumn find. Here it is, this week’s Goodwill Gem: The Summer-to-Autumn Cowgirl Boots!
Brand new boots! If there’s anything else that can do a better job of tempering my sadness about the impending transition from summer to fall, I’m sure I don’t know what it is. A couple great pairs of boots are all a city girl needs to go from day to night, all year round – there’s no wardrobe item more versatile or more essential.
These classic cowgirl boots are the kind of thing every girl needs in a practical fall wardrobe. Perfect with everything from your favorite jeans to a feminine sundress and cardi, this western-style footwear adds a touch of country charm to all of your most-loved casual pieces – ideal for autumn weekends spent apple picking, drives upstate, or even a casual Friday.
It’s easy to pair cowgirl boots like these with comfy jeans and a casual, yet classic, plaid button-down – and there’s certainly nothing wrong with sticking to the tried-and-true. But even cowgirl boots can be dressed up a bit, if you so choose.
Play around with other beloved casual pieces, like an always-appropriate and always-fashionable pair of straight-legged, perfectly tailored black trousers and soft, flowy jersey tee, as I’ve done here. It’s still clearly cozy and casual, but not quite so much so as the standard cowgirl attire. The bold green and black color combo and big graphic polka-dotted pattern add a slightly more modern feel to this outfit, yet still pair perfectly with neutral, low-heeled leather boots like these. Now, hop along Summer, Autumn’s on its way!
