The Washington Heights Window Sale!

Yesterday we listed all the great window sales going on this morning and Saturday, thinking five was impressive enough. Well, Goodwill hunters, get excited: it turns out six is the lucky deal-seeker’s number. Introducing: the Washington Heights Goodwill Window Sale!

SUNDAY, APRIL 1:

  • The Goodwill Washington Heights Store: The sale begins at 9 a.m. and is first come, first serve. Three customers come in at a time, and may choose three items each to purchase. If they want more, they must go to the back of the line. The doors open for everyone at 10 a.m. You’ll find the Washington Heights Goodwill Store at 512 West 181st Street, New York, NY 10033 (phone 212-923-7910).

Just in case you’re not in the know yet, a Goodwill Window Sale is when the best items in the store (which have been displayed in the window for days if not weeks) go on sale. There are often designer items and high-priced toys in the mix. We’ve seen everything from red lacquered Chinese lions to a Ferragamo heels to pristine electric guitars. Crowds form early, so try to get to the store well before doors open.

Goodwill Gems: The Sunburst Tote

This spring is all about color. Fed up with the greys of winter, our correspondent Lauren set out to mirror the sunshine-and-flower-filled landscape around her with a technicolor trip to her local Goodwill. As usual, the Goodwill hunting paid of in this week’s handsome Gem: the Sunburst Tote.

Rising temperatures and increased sunshine call for accessories that are as bright as your mood, like this vivid yellow-green tote with a comfortable, lived-in feel.

Vivid brights, pretty pastels, bold textures and prints – however you choose to incorporate color into your wardrobe this spring, don’t forget to bring in brilliant accessories, too! Styles this spring are fun, flirty and super colorful, and that sense of playfulness doesn’t have to be limited to just tops, bottoms, or breezy sundresses.

Natural, effortless style. It’s what every woman wants – to look fabulous, feminine and put together without having to work at it. And especially when the weather starts to warm, as it has lately, a simple style created with pieces that feel as good as they look seems only fitting.
