With the New York Fashion Week cat-walking right into London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, this month is filled to the brim with style. One of our favorite bloggers (and past Goodwill Disability Mentoring Day Fashion Show stylist) Kimberlee Van Der Wall of IHaveADegreeInThis! breaks down the trends into a Goodwill-filled how-to. Enjoy!
February marks fashion week season here in New York and all the great major fashion cities around the world. This season showed influences from ‘70s psychedelic, ‘60s mod and the Great Gatsby’s 1920s. Fashion works in a cycle so what’s old will eventually become new again, which is great news for all us thrifters out there.
Here are three runway looks that you could easily recreate with pieces from your local Goodwill store:
Houndstooth is a classic print that never goes out of style. Invest in a great jacket for the fall!
It’s all about layers for the fall – mix ‘n match colors and prints for a bold look.
Don’t be afraid to try wearing pieces in different ways. Case in point: This oversized sweater dress is layered with a long skirt and belted to maintain your shape.
If we learned anything from these looks it’s invest in some black leather/pleather gloves. Head to your local Goodwill store so you can be runway ready when these fashion trends hop the runway and take the town next season!
