This month, thousands of service men and women will return home and to the workforce. In appreciation for their service to our country, Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey will provide a professional outfit to all veterans, past or present, who go to any of our 39 area stores, show their military ID, and mention “Goodwill Suits Vets” from Friday through Sunday, January 6-8, 2012.
We posted about Goodwill Suits Vets earlier this month, but we’re still taking clothing donations. Please help – you’ll be helping us help veterans in your community get back to work and back into the economic mainstream.
Here’s how you can help right now:Please donate professional clothing for men and women: suits, suit jackets, dress pants and skirts, shirts and blouses, shoes, ties, scarves and accessories. Drop your donations at any of ourstores or at DonationXpress, our attended donation center in Eastchester. Tax receipts are available upon request. If your company participates, we can arrange a special pick-up at your workplace.We also ask you to reach out to any veterans or veterans organizationsin your life or your community to tell them about the opportunity to receive a professional outfit at no charge.Join Goodwill NY-NJ in telling all vets: “Job well done, and thanks to you and your family for your sacrifice!” – and please spread the word among your friends, family and networks.

Wow, this is a great thing you all are doing. When I came back from my last deployment I found it very hard to get a job, and my wardobe didnt help me much. If it wasnt for Janine Giorgenti over @ http://www.giorgentinewyork.com/ I still think id be in trouble. She compelty modernized my wardorbe which helped me find a job.
