Fall Flirt is bringing booties back – are you ready? Our thrift-loving Lauren is, having toured her local Goodwills, in search of the quintessential fall footwear essential. Take a look at the newest Goodwill Gems, thrift fashion fans: the bold and beautiful bootie boot.
I suppose I might as well just call this a shoe blog for all the cute kicks that keep popping up here, but I hope you aren’t tired of my fab footwear finds yet! A girl can never have too many shoes (if you disagree, though, please donate the extras to Goodwill!). This week’s find is a pair that no fashionable lady-about-town could possibly pass on.
Perfect for fall in a chic faux-croc, these deep brown booties add luxury to any girl’s collection. An ankle bootie works for fall because you can wear it with anything in your ever-adapting wardrobe at this time of year.
Wide-leg jeans, slim-cut trousers, skirts or your favorite pair of summer shorts over a snazzy pair of tights all look great with them – the possibilities are endless. And the textured material and pointed toe on this pair make them look even richer and more sophisticated, and so absolutely fabulous for any number of occasions this season.
So what’s the best way to wear these sweet little ankle boots?
One of my favorite ways is with a classic pencil skirt – it’s always in style, and also a fantastically flattering way to show off your feminine curves.
This brown wool version from my closet is soft and warm enough to ward off any autumn chill. A brilliant pink blouse in a floral print provides contrast to my classic skirt. With this combo, I’ve created a classic look for the office, with a little edge.
And if I add in jewelry and more intense makeup (some sleek black eyeliner and a bright lip, for example), this look could go from business to cocktails in a matter of minutes. Three cheers for booties! Welcome back!
