Love to shop and live in New Jersey? Well, good news!: We’re opening a new Goodwill store in Paramus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Thursday, July 15th at 10 a.m.!

Located at 809 North State Route 17 (between the Ridgewood and Linwood Avenue Exits), the store opens Thursday, July 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.
As a special treat, lucky customers will be able participate in drawings for valuable Goodwill gift certificates everyday from July 15th-17th. Normal store hours will be 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday-Saturday.
By the way, did you know that income from every Goodwill store supports our programs for people with disabilities and other special needs, helping to overcome barriers to employment? It’s true – and every new store is a new drop-off point for donations, too!
Donations are tax deductible, and the Paramus store has already started taking in donations Monday – Saturday between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. In case you want to tame your own NJ closet, Goodwill accepts clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, household goods, linens, computers, books, and small appliances or electronics in good working order.
Come stop by and say hi – we’d love to see you!

Hello, I am retiring in January and would like to donate about 1/2 my work clothes. Is there a price guideline sheet for the tax write off that I could follow as I prepare the items for you?
Thank you.

Hi Suzanne,
Dear Suzanne,
First off, THANK YOU! We deeply appreciate your choice to donate to Goodwill, aiding our mission of getting people back in the economic mainstream. We are so grateful for supporters like you.
Regarding tax information, Goodwill Industries International has a valuation sheet on their website that people can use as a guide. Go to http://docs.goodwill.org/alfresco/d/d/workspace/SpacesStore/f23927e7-06f1-4261-ac59-d7e5dc00f95b/Donation_Valuation_Guide.pdf – also, be sure to check the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov for instructions and consult with your tax preparer about the best way to make sure your deduction is counted.
Thank you again for your generosity!

Hello
My husband and I are moving and we have a number of items we would like to donate. Do you take furniture, and if so, do you have a service that helps transport the items?
By: Melinda on October 27, 2011
at 3:08 pm
Hi Melinda – Our apologies for our delayed response! Sadly, we are unable to offer a pick-up service. As for the furniture, outside of our NYC stores, we accept smaller pieces in good condition (and very, very much appreciate them). The best way to find out if your furniture is a good fit for donation would be to call your local Goodwill store manager. All of the stores’ info, including phone numbers, are here: http://www.goodwillny.org/findgoodwill.aspx . We hope this was helpful. Please know we greatly appreciate your thinking of Goodwill. Let us know if you have any questions and thank you for the comment!

Of course it depends on your taste, but we definitely have shorts and denim jackets for sale. Come on over & give us a try – we’d love to have you!
